Enjoy!
(i) Scuttleblurb: some thoughts on Charles Schwab
So much noise around the SVB situation and the banking system in general. Loved this well reasoned and balanced write up addressing many of the issues right now. Also enjoyed this: Net Interest: The Demise of Silicon Valley Bank
(ii) Neckar: Statistically Speaking, You Are The Patsy
I read this to be about the persistence of high returns on capital.
(iii) Redeye Theme: Serial Acquirers
Cool event, hadn’t heard of any of these businesses. See here for notes.
Corny but fun list.
(v) Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World
Speaking of bank runs, I guess this is a book recc. The story of 1919-1934 told through the interactions of the four central bankers from the USA, UK, France & Germany. So good and fun too.
